Employers in the Construction and Built Environment were asked to give us a list of interview mistakes made by Hard Hat Professionals and we came up with this list the worst mistakes made by Hard Hat Professionals.
1. Focusing on what you want instead of what you can offer
According to one employers Hard Hat Professionals tend to centre the conversation on themselves too much instead of focusing on what they can offer the company they’re interviewing with. As much as the candidate wants growth; the new employer’s interest is in growing the business. The two should not conflict.
2. Failing to prepare for the interview
Going into an interview with a clear idea about your potential employers is a good idea if you want to make a good impression. In addition to finding out about the company, Hard Hat Professionals should also make sure they understand the position. Prepare questions and rehearse possible answers, including references to relevant working experience and examples of projects they’ve worked on.
